We are living in turbulent times, and this has been a tough year in a series of tough years. Living through a pandemic, war, political turmoil, climate change, and managing your own personal challenges and difficulties while supporting others isn’t easy.
We are facing midwinter, the longest and darkest time of the year when energies are low. But the winter solstice is also the turning point of the year, when the light starts to return, days begin to shorten, and energy returns.
I invite you to come along to this workshop where we will be using creative arts, to help you find a place of peace and hope inside yourself, a place where you can return when you need to.
.In this session we will use guided visualisation and creative arts methods to help you to reflect, reconnect with your deepest self, explore your strengths and hopes to help you to move into the new year with renewed energy.
Please bring some art art materials such as pencils, pens, paint, or pastels or alternatively you can use a digital art app. If you can please also bring a candle to light at the workshop.
Tickets are free for APCCA Members, and for non-member if money is a barrier. But a small donation to the APCCA Art Fund would be very welcome.
Creating art is therapeutic. It can help with stress, trauma, mental health and wellbeing. Creative arts can help with processing emotional material, tap into material from the subconscious, and it can help develop valuable insights leading to growth, self-awareness and integration.
In this workshop you'll have the opportunity to find out for yourself through a short experiential exercise. You also learn about the approach, how it can help boost your own creativity and find out more about training to work therapeutically with art with APCCA.
We have developed a contemporary approach based on person-centred and pluralistic theory and practice which integrates create arts in a powerful and yet gentle therapeutic approach. Our vibrant training offers courses from Introduction, Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma levels.
APCCA courses will help you develop skills and understanding which can be used in a variety of settings and roles ; Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Art Therapists, Coaches, Psychologists, Social Workers, Support Workers and others who want to work therapeutically with art.
